GENUINE, HONEST AND EASY GOING

Over the past 4 years I’ve been privileged to work with people impacted by trauma, and I’ve learned that folks who are struggling have some of the best bullshit detectors in the world. If you’re not being genuine and honest with them, they’re going to know right away. As such, I think it’s very important that I bring my genuine, honest self to this work. If I’m good enough at connecting with you, my hope is that you’ll feel comfortable enough (eventually) to bring your genuine, honest self too.

I am also a firm believer in having relaxed, natural conversations with folks. To that end, I tend to be pretty easy going, and often incorporate laughter into my work. And while I take this work very seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s of Arts, Social Sciences, with concentrations in psychology, human development and sociology from Washington State University in 2013. In 2016 I graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work, with a concentration in mental health. I am currently licensed in Washington state as a Licensed Social Work Associate & Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) (credential SC 60790068) through the Washington State Department of Health.

I tend to utilize a client-centered, strengths-based, eclectic approach to treatment that incorporates skills associated with Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, and Positive Psychology. I’ve found that elements of each of these can be helpful in working with individuals who are facing challenges, and I love having the opportunity to move between each, as dictated by what is, and is not, working for you.

Over the past few years I have gained extensive experience working with people of all ages, from various backgrounds and experiences. I enjoy working with everyone, and am especially passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and fire service personnel and their families.

If you are interested in connecting with me, please know that I look forward to seeing what I can do to best support you.
